About the event
Welcome to our annual President Debate where we will prove that you can disagree passionately on important issues without being disagreeable! We have formatted this debate to provide for serious discussion and debate on big topics but with important rules and responsibilities for participants and attendees.
The goal of this debate is dialog and engagement not dueling monologues and here are the general rules.
A team of 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats will be ask a variety of questions from our moderator Jim Motes, the current chairman of the Portland Ethics Commission.
Each team of R's and D's will submit up to 6 written questions for the other side to the moderator prior to the start of the debate. Attendees can also submit written questions to the moderator during the debate.
